A Second Creation

It's week two and I just finished another layout using this month's kit and Basic Grey's Marrakech Collection! By far, my favorite colors from this collection are the soft blues and subtle oranges. I often find that I'm drawn to this warm/cool color combination. The two colors work nicely together and balance each other well. For this particular layout, I used the following products:

Pattern Paper:
Basic Grey "Honey Bush"
Basic Grey "Vanilla Chai"
Basic Grey "Elderflower"
Basic Grey "Sencha"
Basic Grey "Green Tea"

Cardstock:

Black
Deep Chocolate
Shimmer Chocolate
Vanilla
White Floral Embossed Cardstock

Embellishments:

Basic Grey "Olio" Rub-On Book
Imaginisce "Flashy Flourish" Rub-Ons
Prima "Say it in Crystals"
KaiserCraft "Mango" Pearls
Basic Grey "Middleset Mini Mono" Stickers
Maya Road "Damask" Chipboard Sheet

The Basics:

Ranger "Walnut" Distress Ink Pad
American Crafts "Chocolate" Writer
Sakura "Soft Pink" Souffle Pen
Ruler
Multi-Size Circle Template (for tracing and cutting multiple size circles)
Glass "Light Blue" Glitter
Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive
Foam Core Pop Dots

For the 3-D flower look, try curling the edges of your paper flowers forward and give them a further distressed look by adding Ranger Distress Ink. I typically curl the edges of my paper flowers using my fingers. Sometimes, I'll fully bend the flower tips forward so that they look further distressed and imperfect. Layer various size paper flowers together using wet adhesive and foam tape. To give your flowers further detail, combine paper cut flowers with "flower rub-ons", buttons, rhinestones, and other kinds of complimentary embellishments.
